Bruce Gaucher is a landscape/nature photographer living in Roswell, New Mexico. Since moving here from Vermont, he has extensively photographed the Southwestern US, including Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and Utah. Presently the KOBR TV8 news staff uses a set with one of his photographs near Bottomless Lakes.
Bruce Gaucher at White Sands In August of 1996, he spent some time in Colorado at a seminar given by Galen Rowell, famous adventure/nature photographer. This has increased his enthusiasm and his love of nature and photography. He has had photographs printed in a local newsflyer, has taken portraits for Roswell Community Little Theater productions, and he has provided candid shots to document the making of a movie for an independent production group.
Bruce will tell you he loves the landscapes foremost. "The beauty of the setting sun at White Sands National Monument calls to me nearly every evening! To create a beautiful landscape photograph takes thought, technical skills, an artist's eye and the patience to capture the right light. Not to mention film in the camera . . ."
Bruce can be found taking pictures in many unusual places - the summit of Capitan Mountain, the middle of the pond in the park, Three Rivers Petroglyphs, Sandia Crest, or even the Guadalupe Mountains. Be on the lookout for his photographs in many local publications - and hey, maybe even national!
